Ballarat Open Space Strategy (2008)

The Ballarat Open Space Strategy (2008) provides the framework for planning, managing, and developing the city’s open space network. It covers parks, gardens, sport reserves, linear reserves, and conservation areas across the municipality.

The strategy is structured in two volumes:

Current Status

Adopted (2008). Now 18 years old and predates significant development in western Ballarat. Referenced in the housing-strategy-2041 as a document that will complement the Housing Strategy. The Recreation Infrastructure Plan 2024–2039 (recreation-infrastructure-plan-2024-2039.txt) may partially update open space directions.
